Acro - Nice Dynamic Routines !
Sat right – Loop Left – Sat Left – Loop right and Sat Right
In this routine you are using the speed and energy of the exits from every maneuver to take you blasting through the next one.
Lead in to a normal Sat to the Right, when that is established and under control you let go of the Sat position and let the leading edge drop horizontal again, now the glider will stop spinning and establish a deep spiral instead, from this point you let go of the initiating brake and weight shift to the opposite side out from the spiral, the Glider will stop rotating and try to divert all that energy in to a massive clime instead, but you won’t let it, just when you’re at the lowest point of the glider, or just a Nano second after, you putt A LOT of brake and weight shift to the opposite side, now you will pass above the glider on its roll axis. From that maneuver, as same from a big wingover, by applying brake when you are going down again you can pull it in to a spiral/ 360 and bleed it out, but now, instead of doing just that you quickly go in to the SAT position again, but now to the Left. Once you have that under control, let the glider take speed again in a deep spiral, but just for one turn or so, or else you lose too much height.
Now, you have speed again, LOTS of speed, NOW release the brake, use your weight to stop the glider from turning and at its lowest point BAM!!! Massive weight shift!! Lots of brake and around you go!!!! YEEEHAAA! Like before, don’t let the glider die and go above you, make it stay in front and go in to a nice stable Sat to the right, pull out in the same direction that you started.
It can be hard to crank the glider in to a SAT once its established a fast rotation, but in this case let go of the brake and weight shift just and inch, then the glider will slow the rotation down a bit, and just when that happens, apply brake and MASSIVE weight shift again, and you will do a more dynamic entry, giving the glider a little dive energy to go in to the SAT.
When you do this you have to be 100% in control of both Loops and SATS, you have to be able to recover spins, recognize MacTwists and understand the fact that you are now dong maneuvers that can put you through the lines if hesitate or miss judge your speed. Speed is the key, speed is safety.
You have now done a nice, highly powerful and extremely beautiful routine, using all the techniques we talked about in the previous texts. If you want you can take this further you can add some Helico maneuvers in to this as well, going from a Sat in to a Helico and back in to the Sat again!
- When you have reached this level in you flying career, when you master Sats, Loops, Helicos, you should start practicing nice spin maneuvers like the Mactwist, Misty Flip, Twister and so on.
- When you become secure doing those maneuvers, you can start thinking about crossing over to “the dark side”, where you will start getting in contact with maneuvers like tumbles, Rhythmic Sats, (high) Dynamic Sats, Infinite Tumbling and Esfera.
